Straight Stitch Society patterns are designed by Liesl Gibson, chief designer of the Oliver + S, Liesl + Co., and Lisette lines of sewing patterns and fabric.
The spirited and sassy Straight Stitch Society brand features irresistible packaging, inspiring photography, interesting project variation ideas, and detailed instructions that include a bit of attitude. The brand's tagline, "Life is hard. Sewing is easy." expresses the brand's quirky and often irreverent personality.
"Over the years we've heard from customers who feel intimidated by sewing patterns," Liesl says. "With Straight Stitch Society, we want to give people a sewing experience that is lighthearted and fun and that offers a sense of community and support--akin to a girls' night out or a Friday night sewing club. By sewing with the patterns, you're joining an informal society of non-judgmental seamstresses. It helps if you can sew a straight seam, but that's not a requirement for membership in this club!"
