About
Heather Lou is the designer and owner at Montreal-based pattern company Closet Case Patterns. Her career did a 180 when she became disillusioned with the role interior design for shopping malls played in the world of "fast fashion". After releasing the extremely popular Bombshell Swimsuit on a whim in 2013, Heather realized that her love for sewing didn't have to be relegated to a hobby. In 2014, she left her day job and has since released several patterns, and broken down some of the most intimidating garments - swimsuits, jeans, and coats - into approachable patterns. Her infamous Ginger Jeans, which almost single-handedly made sewing professionally finished jeans accessible, are a staple in many sewists' wardrobes, and her blog The Closet Case Files is a fun, sassy read for anyone who loves learning new techniques and creating their own classy handmade wardrobe.
