Piece a spectacular sampler quilt featuring iconic savanna animals
including an elephant, lion, rhino, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo, giraffe, and zebra.All blocks are sewn using conventional patchwork techniques.
One piece (the rhino's horn) uses a cutting guide a shortcut method to make this shape without the bother of paper piecing or matching points.The pattern book includes complete instructions for making a 64" x 84" sampler quilt.
In addition to the sampler quilt, Spectacular Savanna includes complete instructions for turning each of the blocks into a variety of bonus projects.
Zebra, Giraffe, Rhino, and Hippo blocks are 20” square. Lion, Wildebeest, and Leaf blocks are 24” square. Elephant and Gazelle blocks are 30” square. 20” and 24” blocks can be turned into pillows and all block sizes can be tiled to make quilts in multiple sizes. Scroll down to see the the bonus projects. Each one can be made with any block or combination of blocks within each size group.This pattern uses fat quarters and fat eighths and is perfect for a block of the month program.
